Climarite’s story might still only be relatively short, but the first few years in business are absolutely critical and arguably the most significant in any company’s history. So here is an insight into that journey so far…
The vision to become one of the North West’s leading refrigeration and air conditioning specialists started on little more than a wing and a prayer. Owner Patrick Connolly left his steady job as an engineer at an established firm to set up the business. It was quite a leap of faith considering he had a customer base of zero and – having only moved to the UK from Australia and Ireland a couple of years prior – limited local contacts in the industry. What he did have, however, was vast experience and steadfast determination.
In March 2016, during freak blizzards and ice-cold winds (almost laughable when we look back now!) Patrick set about visiting local towns to speak with business owners. Simultaneously he contacted larger refrigeration companies to offer his services as a subcontracting engineer.
The opportunities to prove himself as a highly skilled engineer and reliable partner trickled in and the business has grown – through reputation and recommendation – ever since. That might sound easy but it has taken years of hard graft, sacrifice and (often unbearably) long hours – in fact, far from easy but it has been a thrilling ride non-the-less.
While Climarite might only be in its infancy stages, solid foundations are now in place and the business is growing at a steady rate.
Supermarket and large retail have been a key component of the business since inception and continue to flourish – this can also be said for the catering and hospitality sector. Growth into leisure, farming and manufacturing, medical and other commercial buildings is starting to gather pace. Climarite has also forged successful relationships with larger national and global refrigeration companies, as well as local Facilities Maintenance groups.
Climarite predominantly services the North West region, but its engineers – the install and maintenance team in particular – are regularly assigned to other parts of the UK. The business also frequently engages a handful of carefully selected subcontracting engineers to help bolster its skill set for specific projects.
Looking back and reflecting over the last few years, it is apparent that Climarite’s current crusade is the same as it was at the very beginning – to provide the best possible service to its customers, regardless of business size or sector.
Over the next 12 months, Climarite will focus on the recruitment and training of its permanent staff. Vowing to invest in only the very best engineers.
Patrick Connolly, Managing Director at Climarite adds: “Our aim is to exceed existing customer expectations, continually improving the service we provide. At the same time we must prepare ourselves to meet the requirements of other business that might come through the door, which again relies on the expertise and commitment of our engineering team”.
